You can use this function to create a service contract with reference to an existing service contract. The system copies the data from the referenced contract, including the DBM VSS data Assigned Vehicles and Covered Service from item level.

Prerequisites

In addition to the required steps described in Processing Service Contracts, you have made the following Customizing settings:

  • In Customizing for Sales and Distribution under Sales > Maintain Copy Control for Sales Documents
  • In Customizing for Sales and Distribution under Sales > Sales Documents > Sales Document Item > Assign Item Categories
  • In Customizing for Dealer Business Management (DBMVehicle Sales and Service(VSS) under Service > Service Contract > Specify Sales Document Types as DBMVSS-Relevant

Activities

In the Customer Service menu under Service Agreements > Contracts > Contract > Create, enter the contract type DBM VSS Service Contract (QSC) and choose Create with Reference.

Example

To make it easier to create service contracts, create a reference contract with items and coverage details, such as "change tires" or "inspection". For a new customer, you can copy this reference contract and then adjust the vehicle, validity, extent of coverage, and so on.
