This subsection section describes FSM Cloud Connector configuration in SAP, the configuration necessary for setting up communication between an SAP S4 system and SAP FSM. It is mainly focused on the Message Broker installation as an integral part of the entire solution and configuration of services in SAP SOA Manager.

Key information:

  • Communication between SAP (Connector) and message broker relies on SOAP based web services

    • the communication between them is bidirectional

  • There is one web service running by a message broker that SAP is connecting to

    • TCP port used by message broker is defined in its config

  • There is one web service running by SAP that message broker is connecting to

    • TCP port used by SAP is configured systemwide (check t-codes SMICM and RZ10)

  • If there is a firewall between SAP system and message broker a communication in both direction must be assured respecting used ports on both sides. More on the use of firewall you will find here.

  • Use of secure connection is optional. Both channels, to and from message broker can use HTTPS independently from each other

  • Communication between message broker and FSM cloud is

    • always unidirectional from message broker to FSM - FSM never initiates connections to a message broker

    • always secure, HTTPS based

  • If there is a firewall between Message Broker and FSM cloud its settings must follow guidelines described here.
