Prerequisites

You have done the required steps described in Order Processing for Vehicle Service with Service Contracts.

Procedure

  1. In the Customer Service menu under Start of the navigation pathImage Modified Service Agreements Next navigation stepImage Modified Contracts Next navigation stepImage Modified Contract Next navigation stepImage Modified Create End of the navigation pathImage Modified, create a service contract with contract type VSS Service Contract (QSC).

On the Sales tab page, you must enter the contract start and end dates, otherwise the system does not display the service contract in the input help when you assign the service contract to the service contract release order (see Creating Service Contract Release Orders, step 2).

2. Specify the service by entering service contract items with material type DIEN. These service contract items are a group of order items that you enter

in Creating Service

...

Contracts for Release Orders.

3. On the Vehicles tab page, enter for each service contract item the vehicles for which the agreed service is valid. You can assign a vehicle to several service contract items or several vehicles to one service contract item.

Info
titleNote

During the time you process the contract, the vehicle assigned to the contract is locked for all other transactions.

4. You can define the coverage details of the service contract at item level (see Order Processing for Vehicle Service with Service Contracts, section “Prerequisites”). On the Coverage Details tab page in the Covered Service field, you can enter for each service contract item how often the customer is entitled to receive the service. You can also define which percentage of which services are covered by (settled to) the service contract. To do so, enter the relevant service item groups, packages, and percentages.

5. After you have assigned the vehicle to the service contract item, the system updates the vehicle history by using the vehicle action Create Assignment of Vehicle to Contract (QCVA) and generates a link to the service contract. If you delete the assignment of the vehicle to the contract item, the system updates the vehicle history by using the vehicle action Delete Assignment of Vehicle to Contract and deletes the link to the contract.

Info
titleNote

The vehicle history is only updated if you have deleted the vehicle assignment in all service contract items.

6. If you want to cancel the service contract items, enter a reason for cancellation on the Sales A tab page. Again, the vehicle history is only updated if you have canceled all service contract items that have been assigned a vehicle.

7. If you want to cancel the service contract items and the service contract, enter the cancellation data on the Contract Data tab page at item level and at header level, respectively.

8. If you choose the pushbutton Display doc. header details in the contract (or Start of the navigation pathImage Modified Goto Next navigation stepImage Modified Head. Next navigation stepImage Modified Sales End of the navigation pathImage Modified), all service contract release orders with reference to this contract are displayed on the VSS Orders tab page (see Creating Service Contract Release Orders). You can navigate directly to the service contract release order from there.

9. In the customer service menu, you can create various lists for the contracts by choosing Start of the navigation pathImage Modified List Editing Next navigation stepImage Modified Display End of the navigation pathImage Modified (transaction IW75), Contract List (VA45) and Follow-Up Actions (VA46).
