Equipment/functional location plant change
When an equipment/functional location is updated with a new plant which belongs to another company, this equipment/functional location will be soft deleted from the old cloud company (assigned to the previous plant) before creating it in a new company (maintenance or planning plant – depending on the ‘Planning plant’ field in /PACG/ECM_EQ1 - Equipment Settings ).
E.g. if in transaction /PACG/ECM_EQ1, the ‘Planning plant’ field is checked, change of equipment’s planning plant results in removing the equipment from the old company before creating it in the new one. If ‘Planning plant’ is unchecked, the action is triggered by change of a maintenance plant.
Prerequisites: In transaction /PACG/ECM_EOAS - Object Assignment the EQUIPMENT object should be assigned to ‘Plant’, not ‘no object’. Plants relevant for equipment in each company should be maintained in transaction /PACG/ECM_PLAS - Plant Assignment .
During equipment transfer the Customer should make sure that the open service calls/activites are closed. Dependent objects (such as open service calls, activities) should be handled by customer-specific logic
During changing maintenance/planning plant, the all objects in equipment’s structure are also reassigned to the new company’s plant and they are deactivated in the old company.
In case of functional location, the whole structure is also resigned to another company's plant except another functional location in sub-hierarchy.
Example flow
Make sure the equipment object is set to ‘Plant’ in transaction /PACG/ECM_EOAS - Object Assignment.
Maintain proper plants in transaction /PACG/ECM_PLAS - Plant Assignment.
Check the ‘Planning plant’ setting in transaction /PACG/ECM_EQ1 (empty means use the maintenance plant).
Change the maintenance plant of a test equipment in transaction IE02, tab ‘Location’ or in transaction IL02 for functional location.
Notice that a deactivation idoc (soft deletion) is sent to the company assigned to the previous plant (company 2000, plant 2000).
An equipment idoc is sent to the company assigned to the new plant (company 1000, plant 1000).
Change the ‘Planning plant’ setting in transaction /PACG/ECM_EQ1.
Change the planning plant of the test equipment in transaction IE02, tab ‘Organization’ or in IL02 for functional location.
