ResMat Type

The field represents the reserved material type set for a specified order type in a specified company and can manage component creation in the /PACG/ECM_ARMAT table.

The available reserved material types include: Purchase order, Component, None and Component at once. These names don't fully convey the meaning of these options. The ‘From purchase order’ type requires a badi (mdoc_rmat_aufnr_det). In general if the service order number field length is equal to 12, it means it's an AUFNR value, which makes it clear that the order with a stock movement coming in is relevant for the RMAT table and to which order exactly. A new entry is made in the RMAT table once there's a material movement. After delivery to the purchase order an entry in the RMAT table is created but only of type ‘N' or ‘S'. This configuration is similar to the 'Do not create’ (

Status

'None') option – where no reserved material is used. For standard users, 'From order components’ (
Status

'Component at once') is the recommended setting, other options would block updates of the RMAT table. The 'Component' option is deprecated.

Res. Mat. sent only for dispatched oper

When enabled, reserved materials and batches will be sent to FSM together with service calls only if any FSM-relevant operation in that service order is dispatched (has a technician assigned). FSM-relevant means:

This helps avoid unnecessary idoc traffic.

If reserved materials are created on activity level (field ResMat on Act in transaction /PACG/ECM_SCTD – Service Call types definition: Overview and Detail is enabled), only the operation to which a component is assigned will be checked, not all of them. If that specific operation has no technician assigned, its reserved materials won’t be transferred to FSM.
