Equipment/Functional location

Measuring points and readings

Technicians can use the FSM mobile application to display measuring points and measurement documents created in SAP ECC/S4, as well as to record new readings for a given equipment. The readings are then stored in SAP ECC/S4 as measurement documents.

Performance

A faster version of FSM Cockpit

A new method of collecting data was introduced, significantly speeding up the process of reading IDocs in the FSM Cockpit. The new Cockpit can be accessed using transaction /PACG/ECM_COCKPIT2 - FSM Connector Cockpit (new).

Enable foreground inbound processing. Select a custom RFC Connection.

A new configuration option allows processing of incoming messages in the foreground instead of background (synchronous vs. asynchronous processing). This can improve performance in the systems where background processing is heavily loaded. Additionally, an RFC Connection other than ‘None’ can be selected for inbound idoc processing.

Events optimization

  • BUS2088 Released event was raising an event of type /PACG/ECM_CL_S_EVENT_SERVORD. The same event is raised at save of an order, causing the first one to be redundant. With the new release, the related configuration entry will not be added by setup report anymore.

  • While processing /PACG/ECM_CL_S_EVENT_ACTIVITY, raising of /PACG/ECM_CL_S_EVENT_MDOC event got replaced by a direct call of the material document selection class. This reduces the number of unnecessary idoc generation attempts for objects which were already sent.

  • While saving service order, additional checks of validity were introduced before event /PACG/ECM_CL_S_EVENT_ITEM is raised for items added to the components table. This reduces the number of unnecessary IDocs generation attempts for objects which are not FSM-relevant.

  • In the previous product versions, in order to send an attachment to FSM, it was necessary to send the entire object to which it was added. Now FSM Cloud Connector is capable of sending selected attachments omitting their parent objects.

  • FSM activities are no longer sent to FSM unconditionally together with the service orders (of course activities are still sent to FSM on creation or change). The related sending programs however keep the option of sending them on request.

Locking of /PACG/ECM_AHASH table

Locking and unlocking of /PACG/ECM_AHASH table got changed in order to improve performance in systems with multiple application servers

UX improvements

Service call type definition configuration redesign

  • To improve user experience of configuration, two alternative versions of this transaction were created. View cluster-based simplifies navigation through the customizing thanks to customizing options being grouped into meaningful categories. ALV-based simplifies mass update, comparison of entries and duplication from one type/company to another. Changes in one transaction will be visible in another.

UX improvements in other service call-related configurations

  • Setting ‘Customer source’ was removed from the service order type definitions-related configurations (e.g. )

  • Transaction no longer includes fields related to obsolete sales activities.

  • A search help was added to the ‘Status’ field in the configuration

Navigate to sending transactions from the related customizing transactions

The button 'Send to FSM', added to several customizing transactions, navigates to the corresponding sending transactions. This helps reduce the effort related to jumping between FSM Cloud Connector folders and transactions.

Learn more:

FSM menu reorganization

Transactions in FSM Cloud Connector folders Administration, Reporting and Send were grouped into meaningful categories, based on their functionality and usage. The new sub-folders can be seen in the tree of the application help page: .

Collapse/expand all company-related notes in the attachment configuration

Two buttons added to - it is now possible to collapse and expand the entire company configuration tree with a single click.

Learn more:

Display all customizing entries in the Customer deactivation configuration

It is now possible to display all the existing configuration entries maintained with transaction as ALV

Learn more: , button 'Display customizing'

Activities

Group Checkout

The issues with the group checkout functionality were solved. This solution was also delivered as an SAP note for previous FSM Cloud Connector versions, learn more: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/3333690.

Service Order

Order update from FSM

Added handling for unsupported time unit in the UPDATE_OPERATION method (called during operation update attempt based on activity changes from FSM).

SAP S4/HANA Maintenance Service Order

Attachments' integration

As with the CS service orders, it is possible to copy attachments from the related activity or PM order to the parent MSO, if the functionality is enabled in the dedicated configuration.

Learn more:

Network-based service calls

  • Link network-originated service call attachments to activities

Learn more:

  • Service assignment status handling was added for network-based activities

Learn more:

  • Unassignment status handling was added for network-based activities

Learn more:

  • Specify how user status set to a network activity should affect the related FSM activities' workflow step (direction from SAP to FSM) or how activity workflow step should affect network activity’s user status (direction FSM to SAP).

Learn more:

  • Activities can be created using time unit defined in the SAP standard customizing

Learn more:

Notification-based service calls

  • Unassignment status handling was added for notification task-based activities

Learn more:

Checklists

  • Checklists assignment objects (customized e.g. in transactions , ) are no longer sent to FSM. This object is now considered obsolete and is maintained only due to backward compatibility. Empty checklist instances are sent to FSM instead (e.g. based on customizing in transaction ).

  • Added handling for checklist template visibility conditions of unlimited length

  • Added handling for location picker

Learn more:

  • A new tool can regenerate GENERIC messages for checklist templates and resend them to FSM in case the initial ones failed after system copy

Learn more:

  • After activity reassignment, the related checklists can also be reassigned. This helps avoid generation of duplicates.

Learn more:

Personal reservations

Custom address for Personal Reservation

Custom address added to personal reservation in FSM is now stored using SAP Business Address services (table ADRC) and added to the person reservation entry in table /PACG/ECM_PRESPR.

Worktime

  • Actual start and finish frames are necessary for proper split customizing in .

  • If split customizing is inconsistent, don't allow work time posting.

Users/Employees

‘Soft deleted’ flag added to users' maintenance

A new column/flag was added to the Connector’s Users Maintenance - soft deletion of users is now reflected by a corresponding checkbox in the mentioned transactions. See e.g. .

A new report checking validity of FSM users in the SAP system

The new report - /PACG/ECM_FSMUSR_CHK - checks validity of FSM users in the SAP system, more precisely the status of the related SAP user (if exists, if within validity date, if not locked) and personnel number (if exists, if employment status is active). The report can also be called from .

Learn more:

Employee IDocs

PA0024 skills are no longer included in employee Idoc. This obsolete approach in certain circumstances would cause skills to be rejected by FSM, due to exceeded lenght. The skills are now only sent as seperate SKILL objects.

Administration and monitoring

Deletion report for table /PACG/ECM_ALTEW

The table /PACG/ECM_ALTEW, together with /PACG/ECM_ALTEWC (CATS receivers), /PACG/ECM_ALTEWS (splits) and /PACG/ECM_ALTEWU (udfs), is used for ‘parking’ time records, as well as to store any inbound time effort (in case they get updated in FSM and the corresponding SAP documents should be adjusted). These tables can rapidly grow and a new deletion report helps users get rid of the unneeded entries.

Learn more:

Connector’s number ranges

A new view was added to the FSM Cockpit - it shows a list of Connector-related number ranges and their current status

Learn more:

Send Deletion Requests transaction

The validation of entered cloud message type was added to in order to avoid errors.

Ping Message Broker

The Ping Message Broker tool returns additional information about Message Broker status.

Learn more:

Transporter exception

A new tool was added to the Message Broker toolset - it returns information about the latest transporter’s exception

Learn more:

System copy guide

A new transaction serving as a checklist of steps which must be performed on an SAP system after system copy.
