Starting form the 2111 Release a new functionality related to Custom Activity Address has been implemented. It enables users to specify a specific address for an activity. To learn more about this feature from FSM standpoint visit FSM documentation related to Activity Addressed

Currently the feature is available in preview mode only in FSM. Additionally, in order to use it, Enable Modal UI has to be switched on in FSM in Setting and Configuration → General Settings → UI Settings

Please note that in case Modal UI is enabled, address will not be displayed on a service call. The address will be displayed on the activity instead.

Custom Activity Address functionality allows user to specify a specific address for an activity. Activity address information can be updated in FSM or in SAP in Change FSM Activity transaction in tab Address.

Users have option to choose an existing address (related to some existing object eg Business Partner) or to create an entirely new custom address.

Available existing address type options are:

  • Customer - Ship To

  • Customer - Bill to

  • Customer - Other

  • Activity equipment

  • Service Call equipment

Available custom address options are:

  • Postal address

  • Geographical coordinates

Please note that available address type options depend on Activity data and different options might be visible is various cases. For instance if activity is not linked to an equipment or if equipment linked to activity does not have an address, then activity equipment option will not be available.

Please note that there are two additional options which should not be manually set by user but will appear under special conditions:

  • Address Resolution - this is used when creating activity in FSM – in such a case activity address will be derived based on FSM logic and address resolution will be concatenated with calculated address type information. Address resolution indicates that address was determined based on standard FSM logic, not chosen manually by a user. Please follow this link to learn more about FSM Address Resolution Logic

  • Service Call - this is a default option for incoming activities created in SAP. It will display the activity address option determined based on logic maintained in SAP. Please check FSM Connector documentation for Activity Address in order to find out more about activity address determination options.

Please have a look at the below activity data along with various custom address examples:

Service order 4007355 has been created with two operations that have been sent to FSM as activities:

Please have a look at the Addresses of Business Partner for whom the service order and activities have been created:

Please note that in case there are multiple addresses of the same address type, then only default address will be taken into consideration as a valid address option to choose.
