Customer intercompany master data
Example scenario
Selling company
Company 1
CUSTOMER default sales area: 1000-10-10
A service order is created in the selling company’s plant (company 1, plant 1000). The service order has a customer assigned which is related to the company’s default sales area: 1000-10-10.
Delivering company
Company 8
CUSTOMER default sales area: 1200-10-10
CUSTOMER intercompany sales area: 1000-10-10
A service order is created in the delivering company’s plant (company 8, plant 1200). The service order uses a customer of the selling company’s service order, meaning this customer’s Sales Organization is 1000. This is not a default sales area for company 8 whose customer master data is related to sales area 1200-10-10.
For this customer to be sent to company 8 and be seen in SAP FSM, a new ‘CUSTOMER’ object should be created for company 8, sales area 1000-10-10, with ‘Intercompany’ field checked.
1. During sending of the service call to company 8 it is checked if there exist open service orders using the same customer (partner function sold-to) but created for a different sales area (in this case it’d be different than 1200-10-10, e.g. 1000-10-10).
a. Service orders’ phase should be ‘Released’
2. Sales areas of the found service orders should match Sales Area Assignment relevant for company 8 and object ‘CUSTOMER’. Also the ‘Intercompany’ setting must be checked.
3. If the above process is successful, a /PACG/ECM_ITYPE_CUST_SINGLE idoc (with the customer from sales area 1000-10-10) is sent to company 8, together with the service call.
Prerequisites
Sales area assignment of CUSTOMER
