Example - Handling of Damages
The following example clarifies how damages are handled during the purchase of used vehicles.
The purchase order that is created reflects the fact that the used vehicle has damages:
Notification D3, July 10th, 2006 / 80.573 km
Location | Type | Number | Markdown |
Left front door | Scratches | 4 | EUR 100 |
Right back fender | Rust | 2 | EUR 250 |
Left front seat | Holes | 1 | EUR 80 |
A little while later, the vehicle acquires more damages and the purchase order is changed to reflect this. You can do this by creating a new notification or by updating the existing one:
Notification D3: August 16th, 2006 / 81.974 km
Location | Type | Number | Markdown |
Left front door | Scratches | 6 | EUR 150 |
Right back fender | Rust | 2 | EUR 250 |
Left front seat | Holes | 2 | EUR 160 |
Note
When the used-vehicle purchase order is created, the system only takes the most recent notification (type D3 Vehicle Damage Report) into account. It ignores all previous D3 notifications on the assumption that the most recent damage report provides the most accurate description of the vehicle damages.
