  • Uninstalling ABAP add-ons: 2011192

  • Release strategy for ABAP add-on S4PACG note 2918834

  • Release strategy and Maintenance Information for the ABAP add-on PACG note 2850986

Prerequisites for uninstalling

  • S4PACG 200 SP 03 or PACG 200 SP 03 (depending on your system version) must be installed - it delivers /PACG/ECM_UNINSTALL program

  • In the FSM Connector before S4PACG 200 SP 04 or PACG 200 SP 04 note 3131739 - Plugin class for FSM Connector Uninstallation must be implemented

  • ACP must implement before the uninstallation (otherwise uninstallation won't be even available)

    • PACG======200 Attribute Change Package for PACG 200

    • S4PACG====200 Attribute Change Package for S4PACG 200

Manual steps before running uninstallation

Both steps described below are not obligatory - FSM Connector uninstallation can be performed regardless of the Message Broker and it won't be blocked by unused definition and setting in the system however it is recommended to do so.

Removing Message Broker

The way how how the message broker should be uninstalled depends on the system where it was installed:

a) Message Broker installed in Windows

  • stop the Message Broker service service

  • remove the service using Windows command 'sc delete [service name]'

  • if the namespace was registered for the Message Broker it should also be removed with command 'netsh delete urlacl [ url= ] URL'

  • restart server

  • remove folder containing Message Broker files

  • remove Message Broker logs

b) Message Broker installed in Linux

  • stop the Message Broker service service

  • remove the service from start-up scripts

  • remove folder containing Message Broker files

  • remove Message Broker logs

C) Message Broker in BTP

Removing manually installed settings

The prerequisites to run FSM Connector are

1) defining basic parameters needed to enable iDoc based communication

2) run setup program which defines all remaining settings needed by Connector to work properly which are among the others definitions of message types that exchanged, definition of events, log objects definition and others.

For these there is a dedicated transaction /PACG/ECM_UNINSTALL which in few simply steps allows user to clear all of it. This report in addition identifies customers' enhancements within the FSM Connector however these must be removed manually. Check documentation on how to use it.

Planning of uninstallation in maintenance planner

  1. Start the maintenance planner using https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/mp.

  2. Select the system via "Explore Systems" and then choose "Plan".

  3. To display the add-on product versions that can be uninstalled, choose "Uninstall Add-Ons".

  4. Expand the view of the product version SAP FSM OP ECC CONNECTOR 2.0, select the product instance S4HANA ADDON or  ABAP ADDON (depending on your system version) to be deleted, and confirm the selection with "Confirm Selection".
The product instance and add-on component versions to be uninstalled are displayed.

  5. Choose "Continue".

  6. Since the maintenance planner expects the planning of another change, choose "Plan a Minimum Software Change" and then choose "Continue".
The target configuration is displayed. The selected product instance is flagged for deletion.

  7. Choose "Next".

  8. In "Details of OS/DB files", leave all selection options open, choose "Confirm Selection", and confirm the warning dialog with "Continue".

  9. In "Details of Stack dependent and independent files", remove all selections that can be deselected and then choose "Next".
In "Download Files", you now see all required archives.

Execution of uninstallation in SAINT with stack XML

You can use the SAP Add-On Installation Tool to uninstall add-on products. However, the uninstallation is possible only if the following prerequisites are met:

  • The ACPs determined by the maintenance planner have been uploaded to the system. The add-on components of the product are thus flagged as deletable and are displayed on the "Uninstallable Components" tab in the SAP Add-On Installation Tool.

  • You have imported the latest SPAM/SAINT update (at least SPAM Version 79).

Procedure:

  1. Call the SAP Add-On Installation Tool with the transaction code SAINT in client 000.

  2. Open the "Uninstallable Components" tab.

  3. Choose "Stack XML file" and, in the file selection dialog, select the stack XML file that you downloaded from the maintenance planner.
The add-on component versions of the add-on product version to be uninstalled are selected.

  4. To start the uninstallation process, choose "Start".
A confirmation prompt alerts you to possible dangers of the uninstallation and refers to this add-on-specific SAP Note with important information. Be sure to read this SAP Note and follow its instructions.

  5. Define the start options.

  6. Once you have read this SAP Note and followed its instructions, choose "Continue" to start the uninstallation with the chosen start options. To cancel the uninstallation, choose "Cancel".
After you start the uninstall process, the Add-On Installation Tool runs a predefined sequence of phases. Should an error occur in any of these phases, the uninstall process is stopped and the error is described to the extent possible. Once you have corrected the problem, you can choose "Continue" to continue the uninstallation.
At first, the Add-On Installation Tool performs preparation steps and check steps. If errors cannot be corrected in these phases, you can choose "Back" to stop and reset the uninstallation. In later phases, if changes and deletions have already been made in the system, a reset is no longer possible, and the system displays a relevant error message. In this case, the errors must be rectified and the uninstallation must be completed.

  7. Following the successful uninstallation of the add-on, you can choose "Logs" to display the implementation logs.

  8. To complete the uninstallation, choose "Exit".

For more information about the uninstallation, see SAP Help Portal.
