Equipment intercompany master data

Example scenario

Selling company

  • Company 1

  • SERVICE CALL default plant: 1000

  • EQUIPMENT default plant: 1000

A service order is created in a selling company’s plant (company 1, plant 1000).

The service order uses equipment, also related to plant 1000.

Delivering company

  • Company 8

  • SERVICE CALL default plant: 1200

  • EQUIPMENT default plant: 1200

  • EQUIPMENT intercompany plant: 1000

A service order created in the delivering company’s plant (company 8, plant 1200).

The service order uses equipment of the selling company’s service order, meaning this equipment’s plant is 1000. This is not a default plant for company 8 whose equipment master data is usually related to plant 1200.

For this equipment to be sent to company 8 as an equipment master data idoc and be seen in SAP FSM, a new ‘EQUIPMENT’ object should be created for company 8, plant 1000 and with ‘Intercompany’ field checked.

1. During sending of the service order to company 8 it is checked if there exist open service orders using the same equipment [FOUND ON THE HEADER OR OBJECT LIST LEVEL OF THE PROCESSED SERVICE ORDER, INCLUDING TOP-DOWN STRUCTURE] but created in different plants (in this case it’d be different from plant 1200, e.g. plant 1000).

a.       The equipment is searched on header, operation and object list level of other service orders

b.       Service orders’ phase should be ‘Released’

2. Plants of the found service orders should match Plant Assignment relevant for company 8 and object ‘EQUIPMENT’. Also the ‘Intercompany’ setting must be checked.

3. If the above process is successful (the relevant plant is found as assigned to the found service call’s company as ‘Intercompany’), a /PACG/ECM_ITYPE_EQUI idoc (with equipment from plant 1000) is sent to company 8, together with the service call.

Prerequisites

  • Equip. ServOrd set in /PACG/ECM_EQ1 for the company to which the processed service call is sent.

  • Plant assignment of EQUIPMENT

For testing purposes turn off ‘Use hash’ for equipment messages so that unchanged objects can be sent again.
