Pricing
This function enables you to determine the price for VSS orders at header and item level and for jobs and order splits. Furthermore, you can determine the price for packages. The system takes the appropriate taxes into account and calculates the cost and the profit margin. You can process prices directly in the order at header or item level, or display and change price data in the pricing conditions overview.
For more information about condition technique elements, such as condition types, condition tables, and access sequences, see the Sales and Distribution (SD) component under Pricing and Conditions.
Features
Pricing at header level
The system displays the total sum of the sales prices of all the order items at header level. Here, you can define a fixed price for the order, and discounts and surcharges separately for parts and labor values. The system splits the fixed price among the relevant items.
Pricing at item level
The system determines the order item prices of the following item categories:
- Part
- Labor value
- Vehicle
- Vehicle features
- Vehicle extras/accessories
For manual parts and labor values, enter a manual price. You can define discounts and surcharges at item level.
Pricing at job level
You can define a fixed price for the job, the part items, and the labor value items. The system splits the fixed price proportionately among all items.
Pricing for packages
The system determines the price for packages without a fixed price in the same way as pricing in the order. You can copy fixed price packages only to jobs to which no order item has yet been assigned. After you have chosen a fixed price package in the job, the system breaks the package down into its individual order items. The fixed price is displayed at job level.
Pricing for the order split
During the split, the system creates a split order with its own pricing for each bill-to party.
Example
A service order is split between bill-to party A and bill-to party B. The system creates an appropriate pricing object for each of the following orders:
- Service Order
- Split order for bill-to party A
- Split order for bill-to party B
Tax determination
There can be differences between tax determination in VSS, and tax determination in SD. For Germany, the tax on used parts applies.
Fast entry of conditions
In Customizing for Vehicle Sales and Service (VSS) under Order > Order Type > Define Order Type, in the subscreen Pricing, field Fast Entry Schema, you can enter a fast entry check schema that groups together different VSS order types (for example, service order and service returns order) with the same behavior as regards pricing fast entry. In Customizing for Vehicle Sales and Service (VSS) under Order > Item Category > Define Item Category for Order, there is a similar field (Fast Entry - Item Category) that defines an item category as a reference for the pricing fast entry fields (see Customizing for Vehicle Sales and Service (VSS) under Order > Basic Functions > Pricing > Define Fast Entry of Conditions). If you do not make entries in these two fields, the system uses the order type and the item category as the relevant value for fast condition entry. If you entered an order type schema in the field Fast Entry Schema, and an item category in the field Fast Entry - Item Category, the system uses these two entries. The following table shows the effects of the values in these two fields on the corresponding value for the fast condition entry.
Fast Entry Schema - Order Type | Fast Entry - Item Category | Order Type - Use | Item Category - Use |
No | No | Order Type | Item Category |
Yes | Yes | Fast Entry Schema - Order Type | Fast Entry - Item Category |
No | Yes | Order Type | Fast Entry - Item Category |
Yes | No | Fast Entry Schema - Order Type | Item Category |
