Residence Time

The length of time that data must reside in the system, even if it is no longer being used (for example, for legal reasons). This data cannot be archived until it has been in the system for at least this length of time.
In other words, the residence time determines the time interval (in calendar days) that must elapse between the time of closing the VSS order (the date when order receives the status Closed) and the setting of the deletion indicator by the preprocessing program.

You can control this residence time for VSS data by making the appropriate Customizing settings.
If the VSS data meets the requirements for archiving, the system can archive the data immediately.

Activities

You can make settings to define the residence time in Customizing for Vehicle Sales and Service (VSS) under Archiving > Archiving Control for VSS Order.
