MIC- Functionalities
Here is a rough overview about all application / functions used by Material Information Cockpit solution. The functionalities consist of:
All Material Information Cockpit functionalities are available in the transactions /DBME/KMA_MATC and the user menu /DBME/KMA.
Action buttons
The action button pane serves interaction functions to the user within the Material Information Cockpit.

Action buttons description
Selection Area
The selection area is divided into two areas main selection and additional selection. The main selection area includes the material number and the organization data. The additional selection fields are used to limit the results further.
There are no obligatory selection fields defined, but due to high volume of master data and possible performance issues, it’s recommended to provide at least a material range for selection.
The additional selection fields are by default hidden and can be shown using the action buttons, refer to previous chapter.
Selection fields
The selection logic considers in general the tables MARA, MARC and MVKE.
If only MARA fields are provided, the selection will get data from MARA and read data from MARC and MVKE there it’s exists for the valid organizational combination.
If MARC fields are provided, the selection will get combined data from MARA and MARC and read data from MVKE there it’s exists for the valid organizational combination.
If MVKE fields are provided, the selection will get combined data from MARA and MVKE and read data from MARC there it’s exists for the valid organizational combination.
If MARC and MVKE fields are provided, the selection will get combined data of all tables for the valid organizational combination.
Additionally, to the MARC and MVKE data the sum of unrestricted stock is fetched from table MARD for the plants.
Result list
The result list contains the selected materials and indicates the material maintenance status.
To quickly identify the missing organizational data (plant/sales view) in the Material Information Cockpit a traffic light system has been implemented in the result list. The traffic light system displays the following:
Green Light → Plant and sales view are existing
Yellow → Plant or sales view is missing
Red → Plant and sales view is missing
Additionally, the missing organizational entry is highlighted with red.
By default, the first material of the list is marked as selected material with his org data combination. To choose a different material or org combination it’s enough to click in the underlined material in the corresponding line.
The result list can be expanded to full screen with the button “Show full” on the ALV toolbar.

The screen “Master data” displays which material and org combination were chosen from the result list. If a view does not exist, the plant or sales data will not be shown at this screen and at the details screen as well.

Navigation buttons
The Material Information Cockpit provides many information about the material. But it could be required to display more information from standard transactions like material documents or stock requirements.
The navigation pane can have up to eleven buttons. A button consists of a text and an icon.

Material details
The tab strip provides a comprehensive overview about the selected material. The data is visualized with different tools and technologies to show what’s possible. Each tab can be copied and enhanced to individual requirements. It’s also possible to define new tabs with complete own screen and logic.
Overview
The overview tab contains information from the material master. It’s grouped in general data, status, sales data and plant data.
The storage location and bin are only filled if the parameter for the default storage location is provided.

Price Information
The price information tab is using the HTML info sheet function of application. As example there are 3 condition types displayed. The customer can define his own condition types, logic and visualization

Vendor / Info Record
The tab vendor / info record shows information in an ALV list. The general data and purchase org data of the info record are combined in one list. The selection can be influenced to consider the plant or not, by setting a parameter.

Stock Analysis
The stock analysis tab gives an overview about the consumption in the selected plant for the last 4 years. The consumption values for the last 12 month and the same previous period are displayed in a graph by months. The overview list displays the stock situation and the consumption in the plants nearby to the selected plant.
If no nearby plants are defined in the customizing all plants from valid org combinations are considered as nearby plants.

PIC List
If a part is interchangeable to another part the PIC List tab shows an ALV list with this supersession chain.

History
The history tab displays the changes on the material master.
