You can use this function to determine the output for each application object, for example for each sales document or billing document. Outputs can be triggered manually or automatically in the sales document. Automatic determination requires maintenance of output condition record. Print programs and layout sets control content that should be displayed in the output. You can use output control to automate either messages or subsequent processing of partner-specific messages. 

For VSS, the output types are typically print outputs such as:

• Vehicle information
• Vehicle order
• Service quotation
• Service order
• Parts order

Integration

Like pricing, output determination takes place using standard tools provided with the SAP System (for example, condition technique or output control). The condition technique provides the following condition elements for output determination Customizing:

• Field catalog for application
• Output determination procedure
• Output types
• Access sequences
• Output condition tables

Prerequisites

For automatic output determination, you have maintained the condition records in the Customizing settings (transaction NACE).
You have maintained in Customizing for Vehicle Sales and Service (VSS) under Order > Basis Functions > Output Determination the following Customizing activities:

• Define Condition Tables
• Define Access Sequences
• Define Output Types
• Define Output Determination Procedures

You can also access the Customizing activities in the list above in Customizing for Sales and Distribution under Basic Functions > Output Control > Output Determination > Output Determination Using the Condition Technique > Maintain Output Determination for Billing Documents.

Features

In the VSS order under Goto > Messages, you can select one of the following applications that you want to use for the output:

• RD for VSS orders
• V3 for billing documents

If you select RD, the system displays the Output Determination screen. Based on your Customizing settings, you can either enter an output type or the system automatically proposes one. Before you print the output you can view a print preview by choosing Goto > Print Preview.
