Internal Service Value Increase

Internal Service Value Increase

You can use this function to carry out work on a vehicle, and thereby increase the value of that vehicle. For example, you can make minor repairs or install a sound system. This makes the vehicle more attractive to potential customers, and increases the value of the vehicle.

Prerequisites

This function uses two different order types, 4100 and 4101. You made the appropriate settings for these order types in Customizing for Vehicle Sales and Service (VSS) under Order > Basic Settings > Account Assignment:

  • Internal Order for Bill-To Party > Define Internal Order Type for Bill-to Party
  • Internal Order Account Assignment > Define Account Assignment Categories for Internal Order
  • Internal Order Account Assignment > Assign Account Assignment Object for Internal Order
  • Internal Order Revaluation > Define Order Type for Revaluation

Features

You can use the following order types to change the value of the vehicle on stock:

  • Order type 4100 (Internal Service Value Increase)
You use this order type when value-increasing measures are performed on a vehicle that is in the workshop stock.
  • Order type 4101 (Internal Service Value Increase — Returns)
You use this order type to undo the vehicle value increase for an order of order type 4100. This decreases the stock value.

Activities

When you bill an order of order type 4100, the system triggers the following VMS actions in the background and changes the vehicle stock value automatically:

  1. Creation of the CO production order (VMS action QCPO/QCPH)
  2. For the internal services performed, reposting primary costs from the internal order of the vehicle to the CO production order and posting of material consumption from the batch to the CO production order (VMS action QCCP/QCCH)
  3. Posting of the goods receipt from the CO production order to the batch (VMS action QGRP/QGRH)
  4. Setting of the CO production order against the batch (VMS action QSEP/QSEH)
  5. Closing of the CO production order and setting of the deletion flag (VMS action QCLP/QCLH).

    Note

The letter H in the name of the action indicates a value increase with return, the absence of the letter H indicates a value-increasing measure.

The following figure illustrates the steps involved in the internal service value increase:
