Job Management
This function enables you to group order items in the VSS order into jobs. This enables, for example, all order items in a job that are assigned to a particular vehicle activity to be structured clearly. At job level, you can also define fixed prices.
Integration
If you want to split an order item, you need to have assigned this item to a job. For more information, see Order Split.
Features
You can access the Job Management via the Job tab in the VSS order. For each job, you assign a separate number (external number assignment) or the system assigns the next available number (internal number assignment). The system automatically calculates the costs for each job as well as the total cost for all jobs and displays these costs.
Furthermore, job management also provides you with an overview of the status of the individual jobs. Icons display whether the job has been split, whether it has been confirmed as technically complete and if so, when and by whom.
In Job Management, you can define a fixed price in the following way:
- For each job
- For all labor values of a job
- For all parts of a job
You can specify whether and how the system prints a job. This means that you can, for example, use an indicator in Job Management to control that a job also appears on the sold-to party's invoice if 100% of the costs are transferred from a different payer.
In the standard system, you can use the following functions for the job, provided that the job has not yet been billed:
- Explode Job
The system deletes only the job and keeps the order items without assignment.
- Delete Job
The system deletes the entire job, including assigned order items.
- Set technical status
You can confirm a job or the entire order as technically complete.
- Reset technical status
Once you have confirmed a job or an entire order, you can reset the status.
- Explode package
Provided the package has been classified as changeable, it can be broken down into its individual items. The price that was calculated for the entire package expires.
In the Job Management, you can distribute and sort the VSS order items into individual jobs by using drag and drop.
Example
A customer comes into the workshop to have the tires changed on his or her vehicle. The vehicle is also losing oil. The workshop employee creates a workshop order with the following jobs:
- Job 1
The employee assigns all labor values and parts required for the tire change to this job.
- Job 2
The employee enters the customer's statement about the oil loss in Job 2 as a text item, as it is not yet clear, which labor values and parts will be required.
While examining the vehicle, the employee establishes that the oil pan needs replacing. The employee includes the relevant order items for replacing the oil pan in Job 2.
