Dispatch Monitor
Dispatch Monitor is a tool intended to be used by Workshop Administrator to allocate work to available technicians in workshop efficiently. Therefore its considering 2 scenarios, pre-planned and unplanned appointments. The dispatch monitor is using existing SRS structures and concept and extends it with new features. The content in the Dispatch monitor are technically always SRS demands.
Demands arising out of unplanned appointments (Day Based planning) and planned appointments (Time Based planning) can be handled. So, Dispatch Monitor can be used to plan technicians optimally for a particular ‘Day’ by allocating unplanned demands and reallocating planned ones. Please see the description below for furthering understanding the Day Based versus the Time Based Allocations:
Day Based Allocations: Are unplanned customer visits to a workshop e.g. vehicle breakdown or walk-in customers. For day-based allocations the VSS order is a leading document which triggers creation of an SRS order (Day based Appointment) when the VSS order is saved. This SRS Appointment is then used for dispatching the work (i.e. Demand) to available resource in Dispatch Monitor. Day based allocation only have a Start- and End-Date for the Allocation.
Time Based Allocations: Are planned appointments that exist today in SRS. These allocation always have a Start - Date and -Time as well as End - Date and - Time. Demands for planned appointments are allocated using the SRS Workshop Planner (WPL). Dispatch Monitor can then be used to reallocate those planned demands for optimal usage of resources in hierarchy.
The overview below shows the components and parts of the Dispatch Monitor and the underlying process:

Dispatch Monitor functions (allocation and reallocation of demands). The results of the allocations both done in SRS and the Dispatch Monitor are exposed to external application by using the new concept of Access Sequence.
Applications affected due to dispatching of demands to resources.
Demand planning for Time based appointments is done using Workshop planner. Dispatch Monitor uses an already available master data, planned demands for Time based Appointments and acts as an extension to SRS Planning tool for optimally reallocating demands to resources.
Prerequisites
Customizing for Dispatch Monitor was setup according to configuration guide
User should be assigned the PFCG roles ‘/DBE/WORKSHOP_CONTROLLER’ and ‘/DBE/SERVICE_ADVISOR_UI’ for accessing and working with ‘Dispatch Monitor’.
Master Data need to be properly setup
For unplanned appointments e.g. vehicle breakdown, the process starts with the VSS order (configured for day-based planning) as a leading order type which creates the ‘Day based” SRS appointment on save.
Time-Based (planned appointments) should be created using the current process of online appointment scheduling (OAS) or SRS Appointment to be planned using workshop planner.
