Electronic Parts Catalogue Integration
Since Customers currently do not have a standard way to integrate with the OEM based electronic parts catalogue, this Integration will help to reduce the given gap. In cases where the parts in the EPC can be copied via a clipboard, or the file upload provision is provided this functionality can be used to upload the parts back to the DMS system to create the items in the VSS order.
Prerequisites
General
- User has in general the necessary authorization to process corresponding functionalities in the VSS order (SAP backend)
- Necessary / general master data for the process are in place like material master,
Specific to EPC
- EPC basket upload file prepared according to the file structure.
Recommendation
For EPC, we recommend the use of the material(s) which are created within the system along with the manual material(s) which are not defined within the system.
Process
Depending on the settings you make in Customizing, the process flow may be as follows:
- You proceed to create a Proaxia VSS service or parts order from order create screen for a selected customer from the database
- You select respective Order Type, Sales Org., Dist. Channel, Division, and Plant before proceeding to create the VSS order
- You can select the event of EPC Basket from available list of events
- In the EPC Basket screen, you can either upload the data from a file or copy the data from the clipboard
- Once data is uploaded to the EPC Catalogue Materials, you can select the material to respective job in the order by moving the parts to the right side of scree with drag and drop
- With Enter key or Execute button, the parts are inserted into the VSS Order with respective quantity
- For parts relevant for delivery, you initiate delivery creation
- For direct consumption part you trigger goods movement
- If any additional parts are required for the VSS order the same can be added either directly or again via EPC basket as mentioned from point 3 to 6
Once the order is invoiced, no further parts can be added with EPC basket event.
