Message Substitution

You can use this function to specify how the system displays messages. If you do not want to use the system messages that display when you execute actions, you can replace them by using message substitution. You can also change the message type and display or hide certain messages from the user.

You can use message substitution to adapt standard messages to your specific business processes, or to substitute terms that users are more familiar with.

Integration

This function does not change the behavior of the standard application log.

Prerequisites

You have made the settings for the Customizing activity Define Schema for Message Substitution in Customizing for Vehicle Sales and Service (VSS) under Order > Basic Functions.

Example

You want to change a standard warning into an error message with a text more specific to your business processes.
